Samples overview

The sample 4GL client applications for accessing Web services are available on the Documentation and Samples CD. You must install these sample applications before you can access them. For more information on installing the samples, see the section on sample Web service applications in Chapter 1, " Web Services in OpenEdge." Once you have installed the samples, you can find these applications in the following location:

Doc_and_Samples_Install/src/samples/webservices/4GLClient

This directory includes three samples located in these subdirectories:

Temperature
StockQuotes
DatatypeFormats

The rest of this chapter describes how to use each sample.

Note: The public Web services used by some of the samples are not always available and Progress Software Corporation (PSC) has no control over the availability of these Web services.
